Hub Founder, Senior Professor Ross Bradstock presented on The Science of Bushfire Management at the annual Allan Sefton Memorial Lecture.
The unprecedented bushfires of summer 2019/2020 resulted in significant human, economic and environmental losses. Scientific research has the potential to help us prepare and plan for future extreme fire seasons. Professor Bradstock highlights how science can influence policy decisions, enhance fire management strategies, and build community capacity when preparing and responding to bushfires. He looks to the future and asks ‘can we peacefully co-exist with fire’?
