Some people can’t or won’t get out of the way of fires – and that’s for them to decide

As bushfires continue to burn in NSW, the fire threat is intensifying further south. On Sunday, Victoria’s Emergency Management Commissioner Andrew Crisp urged residents and visitors to East Gippsland to leave the region to avoid fires burning there.
