About Us
The Bushfire Risk Management Research Hub brings together researchers, fire agencies, public land managers and Indigenous knowledge holders in a collaborative research effort that will improve our understanding of bushfire behaviour and risk.
Research Directors and Specialists.
The Bushfire Hub is a partnership between researchers at the University of Wollongong, Western Sydney University, the University of NSW, the University of Tasmania, supported by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Meet our people
Our goal is to help develop enhanced fire management strategies into the future, reducing the risk bushfires pose to people, property and the environment.
Hub research aims to:
Improve fire management decisions in a changing climate.
Improve environmental and health outcomes for the people of NSW, particularly for communities exposed to fire risk and involved in fire management.
Deliver innovations that will drive the transformation of fire management policy and operations across NSW fire services.
