Bushfire Science Communicator – Full time for 3 months

We are looking for a content writer to join the Eureka Prize winning NSW Bushfire Risk Management Research Hub team to help them translate 4 years of research into quick and easy to understand summary for fire managers and the broader public. The NSW Bushfire Risk Management Research Hub brings together researchers, fire agencies, public land managers and Indigenous knowledge holders in a collaborative research effort that will improve our understanding of bushfire behaviour and risk. The Hub’s innovations and research aims to drive the transformation of fire management policy and operations across NSW fire services.

If you a content writer/producer that has a way with words, an interest in bushfire research and an ability to translate science into operational guidelines then we want you. You’ll be speaking with scientists, writing web and report copy, briefing designers and creating engaging and visual summaries of the Hub’s fire research. We want to make sure the research makes it into the hands of operational staff such as National Parks and Wildlife and Rural Fire Service fire managers.
